The Elizaveta Kruglikova and Around exhibition has opened in the Historic building of the State Tretyakov Gallery, which is supported by the Stonebridge Legal law firm.
The exhibition includes more than 200 works: prints, drawings and watercolours; sculptures and figurines; silhouettes and monotyping pieces. This collection demonstrates the variety of creative life inspired by Elizaveta Kruglikova and her artistic circle.
The creative life of E. Kruglikova is extremely multifaceted. In the early 20th century she taught etching techniques in Paris and, from the 1920s, she headed the Leningrad etching school and taught at the Academy of Arts. Elizabeth created a large gallery of portraits of Russian writers, artists and party leaders, using, among other things, the silhouette technique, and also made a significant contribution to the spread of monotyping in Russia.
Dmitry Pozin, CEO and partner of Stonebridge Legal, spoke at the opening of the exhibition and emphasised: "For my colleagues and me personally, especially graduates of the Moscow State University Faculty of Law, this is a rare opportunity to contribute to the development and popularisation of silhouettes in the Russian Federation. At our alma mater, images of leading professors of Moscow State University made using the silhouette technique are on display, so this is a unique opportunity for us, and we are grateful to our friends from the Tretyakov Gallery, who allowed us to feel a little younger and remember our years at Moscow State University."
Dmitry also noted that this event is a significant and important element of the cultural life of the capital. Supporting such initiatives is an important component of the Stonebridge Legal team’s social responsibility.
Konstantin Orlov, counsel at Stonebridge Legal, photographer and former editor of the National Geographic photography section, took part in the press screening and noted: "The new exhibition of the State Tretyakov Gallery is a great opportunity for art lovers to revisit the great names of Russia’s historical past, as well as to recall half-forgotten artists, innovators and educators (such as Elizaveta Kruglikova) who had an invaluable impact on the development of Russian culture during the Soviet era. As Friends of the Tretyakov Gallery, we are proud to participate in this exhibition and, as art lovers, we thank the Tretyakov Gallery for the unprecedented scale of its recent exhibition activities, which allows us to see and appreciate the full diversity of paintings and graphics in our country."
The exhibition runs until 9 November 2025 at Tretyakov Gallery, 10 Lavrushinsky Lane, Moscow 119017. We invite everyone to visit the gallery and immerse themselves in the world of art!
